Our Environmental and Ethical Policy 2009
Elite Trade Kitchens Ltd. specialises in the design, supply and installation of domestic kitchens to the new house-building sector and the design, supply and installation of kitchen/tea-point/break-out areas to the office refurbishment sector. We value our planet and are constantly looking at ways to reduce the impact of what we do. This policy applies to all activities undertaken by Elite Trade Kitchens Ltd.
We will comply with all applicable legal and other requirements and will integrate environmental management throughout the business. We will strive to continually improve our environmental performance and meet the following objectives:

1. Enhance the working environment for employees, clients and the public alike.
2. Identify and eliminate the threat of any contamination to the environment.
3. Support the Considerate Constructors Scheme or equivalent initiatives.
4. Be a good neighbour and take measures to control noise pollution. 5. Recycle all suitable packaging taken to site
6. Source and utilise low-lead and low-cfc products
7. Use wood that has been FSC certified or Pan European approved
8. Use metals that are recyclable wherever possible
9. Maximise load space on all delivery transport
10. Minimise delivery distance by intelligent sourcing
11. Encourage and our employees to use public transport
12. Reduce waste products generated by administration
13. Endeavour to reduce our printed matter
14. Replace all light bulbs within our office with a low-energy type
15. Constantly review and update our ethical policy
16. Continually monitor the ethical policies of our suppliers
17. Strive to achieve a carbon-zero footprint
18. Help to protect our local and global environment
19. Ensure that our employees are committed to the policy
Chipboard Practically all of the chipboard which we use has been manufactured under the FSC chain of custody accreditation scheme. Sophisticated computerised optimisation systems minimise waste.
Packaging All our cardboard is made from at least 2/3 re-cycled materials and is recyclable.
Chemicals & adhesives Water based PVA adhesives are used in the manufacturing process enabling us to avoid harmful hydrocarbons and aerosols. Solvent use is limited to cleaning agents, for which all relevant precautions are taken. All chipboard achieves class E1 for formaldehyde emissions.
Timber Sourcing Policy We are committed to ensuring that all of the timber products used in the course of its business have been sourced with the least possible damage to the natural environment. We will work towards all timber products being independently certified under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) scheme. We are working with our suppliers to ensure that the timber products that we purchase come from verifiable sources with secure chains of custody and which meet minimum standards of good forest management.
